Applied
Speciation offers trace element and molecular quantitation for
nearly all biological materials. Whether an investigation targets
ecological risk assessments or clinical studies Applied Speciation
is equipped to handle nearly any analytical demand.
An increasing field of interest has been yeast, fish, rice, and food
additives applied for human and livestock (bovine and poultry)
consumption. The molecular form of metals will dictate the health
implications for consumption; therefore, standard total element
analyses will not suffice for risk assessment purposes.
Selenomethionine analysis of yeast and arsenic speciation analysis
of rice and fish are the most widely requested analyses for tissues
based on the bulk consumption by the human populous.
Applied Speciation is also a BSL-2 laboratory which allows us to
support pharmokinetic studies and clinical trials. Although total
element analysis can identify if a drug is absorbed by the body or
excreted, the metabolism of the compound will ultimately dictate the
efficacy and side effects.
Depending on the nature of the investigation larger samples may
require homogenization prior to analysis to ensure
representativeness of the results. Applied Speciation supports
homogenization of tissue samples ranging from less than 1 gram to
over 10kg.
Whether your project goals are for risk assessment purposes or
clinical studies, Applied speciation can support your analytical
needs. Feel free to contact one our project managers to find out if
how we may assist you (info@appliedspeciation.com).
