Applied Speciation has developed an array of analytical techniques for active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). By combining different chromatographic and detection methods a wealth of information can be gathered from a single analytical run. APIs are often halogenated compounds which may contain impurities depending on the method of synthesis. The synthesized organic compounds can be separated and quantified to determine impurity molar ratios as well as the number of active sites (halogen atoms) on the impurities without the necessity of theoretical structural design.
Pharmaceutical characterization at Applied Speciation currently supports molecules containing the following active pharmaceutical ingredients: Cl, S, I, Br, and P.
