Determination of Arsenic, Selenium and Chromium Species in Waters and Soils. Analytical Methods, Issues, and Solutions.

This workshop is designed to help environmental professionals in choosing the right analytical technique for arsenic, selenium, and chromium speciation according to their application. Common analytical approaches for the determination of arsenic, selenium and chromium species in environmental and industrial water and soil/sediment samples are described. Each approach is critically evaluated for the type of data it can generate, analytical issues such as matrix effects, operational biases, etc. Strategies for maintaining speciation during sampling and storage are explained and evaluated. A number of representative environmental and industrial case studies is presented to illustrate method performance, typical results and common problems.

Presenters: Dr. Hakan Gürleyük and Russ Gerads
